It has the transparency of water. In recent years, it has been used as a substitute for Dunmer Vanish.

Winsor & Newton Final Varnish adds shine to your artwork and protects it from the damage of time and light, it seals the microscopic pores in the oil paint film, resists dirt and oil build-up and creates a uniform surface sheen.

A high quality final varnish that is UV resistant and mineral spirits removable. Dries quickly to form a non-yellowing film. Recommended for use only on completely dry paints, not as a medium. An excellent final varnish for oil, alkyd and acrylic paints.
