Oil extracted and refined from safflower seeds. It dries at the same rate as poppy oil, and although the strength of the coating is less than that of linseed oil, it is less prone to yellowing. Unlike edible slow-drying oils (high oleic), this "safflower oil" has properties (high linoleic) that make it suitable for painting.
