1. Using a mortar, put an appropriate amount of Mizuhi paint into the mortar and crush it with a pestle until it is no longer gritty. This is called dry rubbing.

What you will need is a mortar, pestle, painting plate, water spoon, glue, brush washer, and brushes.
*The solidified glue should be boiled in hot water beforehand. Click here for how to make glue.

2.必要量の空擦した水干絵具を溶き皿に入れます。少量の膠液を注ぎます。

2. Place the required amount of dry rubbed water-based paint into a mixing tray. Pour in a small amount of glue.

* Be careful not to add too much glue at once.

3.粒々がなくなるまで膠液を追加しながら、指の腹を使って練り込んでください。

3. Add glue and knead it with the pads of your fingers until there are no lumps left.

*If you place your index finger on top of your middle finger while kneading, it will be easier to apply pressure.
*If you knead it carefully until you no longer feel any roughness in your fingertips, it will gradually become smoother.

4.しっとりとして粘りが出てきたら少量の水を加えよく混ぜます。好みの濃さに調整してください

4. When it becomes moist and sticky, add a small amount of water and mix well. Adjust the consistency to your liking.

Once it's dissolved to a consistency that's easy to write with, it's complete.
