Holbein PG-526 Preservative
Product Description
The active ingredient is a thiazole compound. It is used as a preservative for aqueous solutions of gum arabic, glue, casein, etc.
It is stable on silver foil and other materials and does not cause any changes.
A low-toxicity substance with an oral lethal dose LD50 of 1.25 to 2.5 g/kg.
The appropriate amount is 5 drops per 100 ml of each solution. If it comes into contact with the skin on your hands or face, rinse immediately with water as it may cause irritation.
*LD50 is the lethal dose per 1 kg of animal body weight, with substances below 30 mg/kg being classified as poisonous, and those between 30 mg/kg and 300 mg/kg being classified as hazardous substances.
In Japanese painting, it is a preservative used after creating glue.
