Kyojo Iwa Enogu is a new generation of painting paint that prevents environmental pollution caused by lead, while offering excellent decorative properties, safety, and durability against environmentally polluting gases.
Shin-iwa pigments were developed in response to the decline in natural ores. They are produced by mixing glass with metal compounds and firing them, like frit for cloisonne, and are then finished in the same way as natural mineral pigments. They are resistant to light and chemical changes. (Nakagawa Kofun "Phoenix" - Auspicious)
Shin Iwa-enogu is crushed and classified into 10 levels of coarseness. As the number increases, the particles become finer, with white being the finest.
The coarser the grind, the darker the color will be, and the finer the grind, the lighter the color will be.
